Design with purpose.
Every few years the City of Greater Sudbury updates their official communications strategy plan. It’s a re-thinking and examination of how the city communicates with the community. As part of that process, there was a strong desire to present the document and its concept in a more inviting fashion. Even its language and tone was reframed, eliminating usual jargon. Readily made available to the public, the document design had to also inspire the internal communications team, senior leadership and managers. It had to become a strong visual reminder. It was designed with a thematic approach, telling a strong narrative of why communications were important to the city. A compact version was formatted into something you could point to in your office to stay on track and be reminded of the city’s communications objectives.
